Snapshots

Here are some pictures from Instagram to give you a peek on what I've been up to recently. I caught up with both groups of friends from uni and highschool. Both lovely outings and it was really nice to find out what everyone has been up to. Also ate out lots, particularly Japanese and Mexican - I go through phases of obsessing over certain types of cuisines. There was one time when I had an unhealthy obsession over fish and chips for a month.

Last weekend, I met up with colleagues for afternoon tea in one of the most sophisticated places I've been to. A fancy place that made me feel under dressed in my summer-y dress. On Sunday, I went to watch Addams Family at Capitol Theatre. I have been dying to see it as the animated series is one of my childhood favourites. I adore Uncle Fester. Who is your favourite?

Okay. Now onto a big announcement. I will be setting out on what will undoubtedly be an exciting chapter in life. Something that has kept me pretty busy this past month or so. Insert *drum rolls* ........ I'm moving to Canberra, which some of you may not know is the Capital of Australia, for a new job.

Although I'm looking forward to embarking on new adventures in a city I've never lived before, I'm feeling sad and lonely as I will be leaving family and friends behind. The good thing is I will only be a 3-hours drive/coach ride away from Sydney, so I foresee impromptu weekend trips back home.

Wish me luck!

Daniel Hotel, Vienna

Isn't the design of this hotel gorgeous? How I wish it opened 2 years ago when I was in Vienna. It embodies a concept coined "Smart Luxury". In which a varied selection of top-class options are offered to make the stay as easy as possible without pressuring the guests into anything. The owners came up with this idea to accommodate the modern-day traveller that usually travels light and prefers straightforward and unpretentious service.

It is tastefully designed with big open spaces and quirky signs scattered around the building. The reception area takes the form of the hotel's private little store that sells its unique merchandise so one checks in and out through the shop counter - exactly like one would do through the hotel reception desk. Also situated in the lobby is the hotel's own pretty vintage-looking bakery/cafe.

Definitely a place I'm keen to stay if I do make a second trip to Vienna.

On another note, Happy Easter everyone! Hope you are enjoying the nice long weekend like I am. I've just gotten some pretty exciting news (the reason for my lack of updates) which I hope to share with you all soon enough.

Autumn

Time flies. In a blink of an eye, it's nearly the end of March and officially autumn here in Sydney. Autumn is definitely one of my favourite seasons (not that there are many to begin with). I love the changing foliage of the trees, how they gradually turn from green to stunning red, orange colours. The weather too has become cooler, especially in the mornings. Time to store away the shorts and bikinis and bring out the jackets and cardigans.
Another norm of late is the daily onslaught of coughing, spluttering and sniffing on the trains. I'm drinking lots of water to ensure I don't become the next victim. Hmmm ... my throat is sort of scratchy at the moment. Not a good sign.

It's Friday tomorrow. Any grand plans for the weekend? I will be
- Catching up with some uni friends after work for dinner and drinks at The Rocks
- Having a vegetarian dinner date with grandma and the siblings at Newtown
- Trying out this pancake recipe
- Browsing travel sites (Remember when I said I didn't have any travel plans this year? Well...that's no longer true. I've booked my flights hehe. Super excited but the downside is that it's months away)

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

My Milk Toof

It's almost the end of the weekend. Here's something sweet and cute to cheer you (and me) up. I'm sure most of you are aware of ickle and Lardee - Inhae's wonderfully adorable creation. Perhaps the two most well-known 'toof' in the blogosphere. Each post has a theme that Inhae focuses on, mainly on the mischief they come up with and their close bond with each other. You can see the painstaking details and time she spends on the backdrops and decorations for each adventure. All hand-made. I just adore them and the mini adventures they go on.

Do check out her exceptional handcrafted universe at My Milk Toof.
